Why I’m learning to ‘experience everything’ with a pinch of salt
Sometimes, experiencing downtime is a bigger endeavour
“You know, I’d rather work on fixing my constants than test out new variables when life is unsorted from all angles.” A statement that my friend made while we were discussing new ideas and frontiers to move towards in our lives. Seated in a cafe, we both were catching up after close to three months, and sharing the significant updates on personal and professional fronts.
I mentioned to her about a new job prospect that would take me to another city, and even though it sounded pretty terrific on paper, the reality was that I was not in the mindset to consider it. Having spent over a week speculating it, I had finally decided to let it go.
I realised that the decision I am presently living with, of being on a break, was turning murkier in light of this new opportunity.
Why was that?
Primarily because the idea of experiencing everything has been conflated with being busy.
